CENTRE PHILOSOPHY

Yarraville Community Kindergarten provides an indoor/outdoor play based program. By providing this program we are empowering children to be independent in their decision making and allowing them to take control over their own play.

Play enables the child to observe, explore, discover, struggle and manipulate their own environment, being able to understand and express their thoughts and feelings about their world. Adults will act as a mediator to facilitate children’s play extending children’s ideas and to encourage problem solving skills. We aim to develop children’s confidence, curiosity, independence and self-esteem.
