Kingsville Kindergarten, located in West Footscray, offers one 4 year old kindergarten program plus two 3 year old groups.

At Kingsville Kindergarten qualified teachers and experienced co-workers

• create a safe, caring and creative environment that promotes choice, independence, and social interaction.
• implement a play based open-ended curriculum. We believe that the most powerful way that a child learns is through play.
• instigate an emergent curriculum – capturing spontaneous child-initiated events as they occur, and providing materials & information to support and extend these moments.

• focus on positive reinforcement and role modelling to build confidence and self-esteem; encouragement to develop problem solving skills and initiative; and scaffolding to increase interactions and build relationships.
• currently offer an indoor/outdoor program which caters for independent choices and individual learning styles, and provides time and space for the children to play, enjoy, explore, investigate, experiment, interact, create, learn and thrive.
• provide individual portfolios which document each child’s journey throughout the kindergarten year including written observations, photos, work samples and special event’s.

Families are encouraged to take part in the program through special events – morning teas, end of tem parties, grandparents days, duty rosters, as well as by participating in incursions and excursions.
