Sunshine Heights Kindergarten offers two 4 year old groups.

It is the Centre’s philosophy to provide a program which offers a happy, secure, enjoyable and educational atmosphere for each child enrolled and attending this service.

The program aims to instil positive attitudes to learning in preparation for formal schooling (education). The program is based on the individual needs and interests of each child, at the appropriate developmental level of each child. It is recognised that each child participates at their own level and skill ability. Each child is accepted and respected, regardless of ability, gender, race, language or culture.

The program is based on developing the whole child in the following developmental areas: physical, social, emotional, cognitive and language. The appropriate equipment is provided to foster and aid this development. Outside agencies can, and are, used to resource this development (e.g. therapists).

Parents are encouraged and welcomed to participate in the program, as long as it is not interfering with the child’s progress.

The Centre has a list of policies aimed at managing and treating each child as equals.
